Dr Albert van Niekerk is proud to be part of the Moot community. We are committed to satisfy the health needs of the individual, family and the community. The practice is a newly established family practice. We are passionate about our patients and hope to make every consultation as comfortable as possible.

Services Offered
Treatment and evaluation of established chronic diseases, such as hypertension, diabetes, heart failure etc.
Diagnosis of new conditions. If indicated, we can readily refer for specialist care.
Electrocardiogram (ECG). Resting ECG evaluation, used as a screening tool for detecting abnormal heart rhythm, coronary-and- valvular disease, as well as heart muscle abnormalities.
Eye evaluation: we are equipped with a slit lamp biomicroscope which allows us to examine eyes for conditions affecting the eyelids, surface-, lens- and retinal structures.
We can also remove foreign material from the cornea. We can subsequently contact the appropriate Ophthalmologist for further management.
Removal of masses: we are able to excise skin lesions and small masses below the skin, which are performed under local anesthetic. If necessary, the excised lesions can be sent for histological evaluation.
Diabetic Care
Diabetes is a chronic disease that occurs when the pancreas is no longer able to make insulin, or when the body cannot make good use of the insulin it produces. Proper management and care are necessary.
Hypertension
High blood pressure (hypertension) is a common condition in which the long-term force of the blood against your artery walls is high enough that it may eventually cause health problems, such as heart disease.
General Practice

Our Practice Team
Meet Dr. HA Van Niekerk
Dr Albert van Niekerk graduated at the University of Pretoria in 2006. He also obtained a bachelor’s in medical sciences, and an Honours degree in Physiology. During his time working as a medical officer at Tshwane District Hospital, he completed his diploma in Ophthalmology. In 2018 he moved to Bloemfontein, where he worked in the Anatomical Pathology Department, at Universitas Hospital for 2 years. He still assists in theatre once per week, mainly in the orthopedic discipline.
Our Practice Manager
Annelore Farell I am Annelore Farrell, I started working with dr. Albert Van Niekerk, on 1 December 2022 as his personnel assistant (receptionist). We are working together as a team and we are hoping to serve the community as best as we can.
